Dropbox files in the WordPress Media Library

Synkivo adds a Dropbox tab to the WordPress Media Library dialog. Click “Add Media” in the editor, browse your Dropbox, pick a file, and insert it. No download. No re-upload.
When you insert a file, you choose Embed or Import. Embed links to the file in Dropbox; the WordPress page references it live, and any update in Dropbox reflects on your site immediately.
Import copies the file once into WordPress uploads, useful when you want a local copy that survives even if the Dropbox connection is unavailable.

Do I need to register a Dropbox App to use Synkivo?
Only when you use the Free version. The paid version handles the OAuth connection securely through its own registered Dropbox App. You sign in with your Dropbox account, approve the access Synkivo requests, and the connection is ready. No API keys or app secrets to manage.
Does Synkivo work with both Personal Dropbox and Dropbox Business?
Yes. Personal Dropbox accounts and Dropbox Business accounts both connect through the same OAuth flow. Business accounts unlock team folders, full-text search inside file contents, and higher bandwidth ceilings; Personal accounts work for solo creators and smaller sites. You can mix account types on the same WordPress installation.
Are my files copied to WordPress, or do they stay in Dropbox?
Files stay in Dropbox. Synkivo does not copy, mirror, or sync files to your WordPress server. When a visitor browses, streams, downloads, or previews a file, Synkivo retrieves it from Dropbox in real time through temporary download URLs. Only files explicitly imported through the Media Library Import option are copied to WordPress uploads.
Can I connect multiple Dropbox accounts and team folders?
Yes. Synkivo supports connecting multiple Dropbox accounts to the same WordPress installation. Each module can point to a different account, folder, or team folder, so you can combine content from several Dropbox sources on one site.
